Remedy Intelligent Staffing and Westaff Franchisees Receive Awards

Santa Barbara, CA — April 9, 2015 Franchise owners and staff of Remedy Intelligent Staffing and Westaff received awards for excellence in management, sales, and profitability at The Select Family of Staffing Companies’ recent Franchise Conference. The annual conference was held February 28-March 3 at the Turnberry Isle Miami Resort Florida.  As part of the nation’s leading staffing providers, Remedy and Westaff are known throughout the industry for delivering talent, technology, and innovative thinking. 

The Franchisee of the Year Award went to John and Carol Neff, owners of Remedy in Omaha, Nebraska. “This award recognizes the franchisees who live the brand in all aspects of their life, who are great corporate citizens, a terrific local employer, and a credit to the entire organization” says Steve Mills, Franchise Division President.

The Leadership Award was presented to the individual who makes certain that others have a chance to succeed by helping their peers as a mentor or a confidant. This year’s award went to the late Bob Everlanka, who passed in early February but leaves behind three Remedy locations in Houston in care of his wife, Karen, and Gail Branch, General Manager.

Jim Nys of Helena, Montana, received the Above and Beyond Award, presented to the individual who goes beyond standard expectations and provides extra-mile service to their Colleagues and Clients.

The President’s Award, selected by Franchise President Steve Mills, went to Irwin Much, who has three Remedy locations in South Carolina and was formerly president of the Franchise division.

The Franchise Offices of the Year with highest gross margin went to John and Carol Neff of Remedy Omaha and Greg and Missy Hill with five Westaff locations in the St. Louis area. The Franchise Business of the Year (the region with the highest total revenue) and the Franchise Region of the Year (highest gross margin) went to Brian and Diane Rose for the Remedy locations in northeast Florida/southern Georgia. The Westaff Franchise Region of the Year award went to James and Karen Mount with 12 New England locations.

Several franchisees received Milestone Awards, recognizing revenue in million dollar increments:

  • Florida: Carol Dodd – Orlando (Remedy)

  • Hawaii: Kristi Yanagihara – Honolulu (Remedy)

  • Kansas: Coleen Seitz – Topeka (Westaff)

  • Kentucky: Stan Moore & Rick Suddick – Louisville (Remedy)

  • Louisiana/Texas: John & Cindy Harper (Remedy)

  • Missouri: Greg & Missy Hill – St. Louis (Westaff)

  • Nebraska: John & Carol Neff – Omaha (Remedy)

  • New Jersey: Jenny Monteleone – Cranford (Remedy), John & Silvia Caravella – Edison (Remedy)

  • Ohio: Kevin & Brigitte Mills (Remedy)

  • South Carolina: Irwin & Margaret Much (Remedy)

  • Virginia: Shmuel & Shira Itzhak – Virginia Beach (Remedy)

Franchise Sales Representatives received Circle of Excellence Awards when they reached average weekly gross margin over $10,000: 

  • New England: Beth Couture (Remedy) and Trisha Jarrett (Westaff)

  • Pennsylvania: Stephanie Russo – Erie (Remedy)

  • Oklahoma/Kansas: Joe Josephson (Remedy)

  • Oregon/Washington: Terese White (Remedy)

  • Wisconsin: Jeffrey Darrow (Remedy)

A Director’s Club Award for average weekly gross margin over $15,000 went to Victor Rivera of Westaff in southern Florida.

Diamond Club Awards for average weekly gross margin over $20,000 went to:

  • Florida/Georgia: Cami Raguinan (Remedy) and Cheryl Ratcliff (Remedy)

  • Nebraska: Tabitha Antoniak – Omaha (Remedy)

  • New Jersey: Candido Carrasco – Edison (Remedy)

  • New York: Brandyn Jacob (Remedy) and Steve Lansing (Remedy)

  • Oregon/Washington: Kathy Martin (Remedy)

  • Texas: Gail Branch – Houston (Remedy)

  • Virginia: Shira Itzhak - Virginia Beach (Remedy)

Awards were also given for Sales Reps with the highest increase in gross margin:
