FranchiseKnowHow Releases 2013 Home Care Franchise Industry Report; Reveals 15% Growth in Home Care Franchises over Prior Year

StonyBrook, New York (PRWEB) November 21, 2013

Franchise expert Ed Teixeira, President of FranchiseKnowHow, the website, newsletter and franchise industry consulting service, has published the Home Care Franchise Industry Report 2013: A report on the State of the Franchised Home Care Sector. Teixeira’s in-depth review of the home care franchise sector, details the continuing dynamic growth of home care franchising. The report includes predictions on the potential impact on franchised home care from the end of the overtime and minimum wage exemption for caregivers by the Department of Labor taking effect in 2015. It also presents an overview of the multibillion dollar home care industry and its more than 6,500 franchise units. A review of 17 home care franchises with a minimum of 100 locations indicated an increase of 15% in the number of locations for the same franchises compared to the prior year.

Teixeira stated: “This is the third consecutive year that FranchiseKnowHow has published the report. Our objective is to provide a review and update of the franchised home care segment and its growth. “The demand for home care services continues to grow as the population ages and as providers, insurance companies and families utilize home care to help control the increased cost of healthcare.”

The National Center for Health Statistics predicts that by 2020 there will be more than 10 million people in the U.S.over 65 with Activities of Daily Living limitations including almost 2 million who will be severely disabled. The market for home care services isn’t limited to the elderly, but also includes others that can benefit from the advantages of receiving home care services. Additionally, a host of complementary services, such as medical staffing for health care facilities, can expand the revenue base of home care businesses. A number of other health care related topics are presented in Teixeira’s report, which is a useful resource for those involved in the home health care franchise industry, including franchisors, investors and those considering entering the homecare market.
