A new report is out for buyers interested in home care franchises. It ranks home care franchise investments by metrics that franchisors disclose publicly to regulators and buyers. According to a research firm of Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), companies such as ComForCare rise to the top of their class while franchisors such as Touching Hearts fall to the bottom of the barrel.

Dwyer Group Buys Window Genie

Residential and commercial services franchising conglomerate The Dwyer Group Inc. has finalized the acquisition of Window Genie for an undisclosed amount. The deal marks the eighth acquisition by The Dwyer Group in the last 27 months. The company says it will now have 14 franchise brands with more than 2,600 franchisees across service brands.

Planet Fitness Files for an IPO

Planet Fitness, the budget gym franchise, filed an S-1 for an initial public offering on June 22, 2015. While the company did not specify number of shares and price, the Planet Fitness' prospectus detailed an approximate offering size of $100 million. The company applied to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker "PLNT." The IPO could value Planet Fitness at more than $2 billion, including debt.
