Rent-A-Center Store Sales Plummet in Fourth Quarter 2016

Rent-A-CenterTexas-based franchisor Rent-A-Center Inc. [NASDAQ:RCII] announced Wednesday that same-store sales are estimated to have dropped by 14 percent in its core U.S. stores for the fourth quarter that ended December 31, 2016.

CST is a spin-off of Valero Energy Corp., which goes mainly under its Corner Store brand of nearly 1,000 stores in the southwestern U.S., New York and eastern Canada.

Ace Hardware Same-Store Sales Gain 3.7 Percent

OAK BROOK, Ill. – Ace Hardware Corporation reported that 3,000 retailers, which share POS data, increased customer count as well as average transaction size. The result was that Ace owners had a same-store sales increase of 3.7 percent in the past quarter. For the first nine months of 2014, same-store-sales at these stores were up even higher, 4.1 percent.
